James Hugh Keefe
Tiptonville, Tennessee

He was a retired farmer from pioneer Lake County families. In World War II, he served in the US Navy, transporting troops to beaches in the South Pacific. He married Emma Laura Dial in 1946. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and participated in softball for many years. He competed throughout the South and Midwest, including the Grand American several consecutive years. He was the Tennessee Senior Veteran Singles Champion in 2000. Much of his local shooting took place in Dyersburg, Trenton and Union City.
His wife predeceased him but he left former All American son David B. Keefe, trapshooter grandson, David Hugh Keefe, and a granddaughter. In his latter years he continued competing despite serious medical issues.
